![]() Path, 2006.bronze,210*60*17 cm. The work called “Path” cast in bronze. Maybe puzzle …maybe people. it shows social and human situations: people helping each other, people trampling on each other, a group of people that build a bridge to overcome a barrier or to build a new image… Unlike a flat puzzle, I show a three dimensional picture made up of human layers that are hidden in it… The bronze varies over time as a result of corrosion and is a metaphor of the effect the environment has on us. ARTWORKS
The piece is assembled from people without an identity. Like a herd. They are people that are connected one to another like pieces of a puzzle. However, in this case the pieces don't interlock perfectly. There is an almost desperate attempt to give them an identity. An attempt that is doomed to failure. The piece is placed on the floor primarily because "" dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return." (Genesis 3:19)
The person without an identity of religion, color or sex is trampled upon in daily life. He tries to get up, to rise and tries to live his life. However, reality hits his face. He stays on the ground.
The final part of this piece allows room for certain optimism. An optimism without which there couldn't be an existence.
Some of the people manage to get up and stand on their legs; while some remain on the ground and yet others attempt to sit. The way to cross over to life will be complete, stable and real if all participate and don't fight each other.
If all will commit to the task of creating existence with mutual help, then each part has importance to complete the whole: which is a better world.
In this work I point out the importance of mutual help which leads the world to a revised society.
